SPB no more: Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam passes away





In a career spanning over 50 years, SPB has sung around 40,000 songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.





The singer was admitted on August 5 due to complications arising from COVID-19. On August 14 (Friday), it was announced that his condition had worsened, and he was shifted to the High Dependency Unit. Since then, he had remained on ECHO and other life support measures. However his condition worsened on Thursday, and S.P. Balasubrahmanyam succumbed to COVID related complications and breathed his last on Friday, September 25.
